We spoke to Jocelyn about what brides to be can expect from her breathtaking salon in Sydney’s leafy Eastern suburb Woollahra.
What can a new client expect from an experience at Jocelyn Petroni?
A personalised, bespoke experience unlike anywhere else, and the ultimate skin results! At Jocelyn Petroni we actually have a ‘loving touch’ protocol. A ‘loving’ or ‘compassionate’ touch completely transforms our client’s energy and attitude when they come out. It transforms their skin too – every Jocelyn Petroni treatment infuses the healing power of Reiki. This hands-on alternative therapy reduces cortisol levels for reduced reactivity and enhanced healing rates. Touch decreases cortisol levels so the skin responds better to topical applications. Downtime decreases because of the compassionate touch given during a very active treatment.
We expect each client to leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, clean, lighter, happier, content with glowing, radiant skin. We want every client to leave feeling they’ve found someone they can trust with their skin to get the results they’re after. What services do you offer at Jocelyn Petroni?
Our salon specialises in Facials, Manicures and Pedicures. Our treatments are effective, thorough and highly consultative. We consult with our clients in detail before starting a facial to tailor each treatment for specific client concerns. Each facial is completely unique and draws on different product and techniques including shiatsu massage, fruit acid peels, reiki, Omnilux light therapy and vitamin infusions.
We offer results-driven, personalised facials which are all infused with beautiful massage techniques and reiki. We’ve also just introduced ‘Clean Beauty’ Manicure and Pedicure for the conscious consumer.
What can a bride expect working with your team on her Bridal Skincare Journey?
Seeking the right advice for your skin is the best thing you can do in the lead up to your wedding - seek an honest skin analysis! We put brides on a program that is skin problem specific so it's different for each individual – everything we do at Jocelyn Petroni is completely bespoke. There’s always room for improvement with skin health and we are committed with every bride that comes into our salon to help make their skin the best it possibly can be.
At Jocelyn Petroni, we aim to achieve a more natural and holistic approach to skincare so women feel more comfortable in their skin. Our aim is optimal skin health and radiant, glowing results at every age, we create a radiant skin texture and tone that shines through the lines. We start with a treatment plan. At Jocelyn Petroni, we build the skin to get it to a great oil and water balance so it has well performing barrier function as well as well performing protection for the skin. This is the starting point. Number one is repairing and correcting colour and breakouts and strengthening the hydro-lipidic film. Then we work on treating congestion, pigmentation, fine lines.
We then get to boosting the skin, creating radiance and luminosity. This involves working with actives, concentrates etc. as well as stronger treatments – peels, microdermabrasion, vitamin infusions and omnilux. Really making the skin look youthful, hydrated, radiant and glowy just in time for your wedding day!
Ideally how far in advance should a bride start working actively on her pre wedding skincare regime?
We recommend working on your skin 12 months out from your wedding, the longer the better because it takes time to work out which ingredients each individual skin loves and what treatments their skin responds to best. It takes a good 6 months for nails to grow from root to tip so this time frame allows nails to be as healthy, strong and shiny as they possibly can be.
If a bride only has a few weeks before her wedding what would you suggest she look at for a quick ‘skin pick me up’ before her wedding day?
Add in an Omnilux booster! Omnilux is deeply hydrating and completely revives the skin. It triggers a healing response in the deepest layers of the skin and stimulates collagen in the dermis. Omnilux is great as it will deeply hydrate the skin and it also penetrates much deeper than what your everyday products can. Plus it’s easy to add into your current skincare regime weekly as an extra boost in the lead up to your wedding day!
What advice would you give to brides to be following your own wedding experience?
Focus on your skin early! Work with a great salon of trusted skin experts who can put you on a personalised skin plan in the lead up with regular facials every 6weeks.
And, always bring a change of shoes for dancing throughout the night!
As the official Ambassador for Chanel Nails, what tips can you provide for optimum nail health?
Ideally investing in fortnightly manicures will ensure optimal nail health. If you are looking to prep your nails for your wedding I would recommend 5 consecutive manicures over ten weeks where your manicurist can assess your nail condition, perfect the shape, trial colours and get to know the exact amount of cuticle to trim, plate to buff and condition and strengthen your overall nail health. Our professional manicures last two weeks as we treat the nail to ensure the polish wears for as long as possible.
Do you offer services for bridal parties?
Absolutely! Our unique extra large treatment room caters for bridal parties to come in together and have facials, manicures and pedicures (champagne too if they like) a day or so before the wedding. This much needed down time before the wedding is a fun environment and we love the excitement too!
We have actually just launched ‘The Gallery’ space, which is perfect for hens and bridal bookings. Designed specifically with the luxurious Jocelyn Petroni style, the space features high vaulted ceilings, natural light and the distinguished Jocelyn Petroni vibrant energy – the space is ideal for the salon’s higher-end treatments, bridal events and group bookings for weddings.
It is a space that aligns with our aesthetic to have luxurious, high-end treatment rooms including; 6-meter-high vaulted ceilings, lots of natural light and fresh air that blows in from the trees outside – it opens onto a big beautiful balcony area. We want you to feel like you’re in a beautiful home, a big open space with beautiful energy where clients can really relax and not feel the confines of a regular treatment room.
