A Geisha Experience

On Thursday 4th July, The Wedding Series had the pleasure of curating a stunning traditional Geisha Tea Ceremony at Sydney’s chicest oriental cocktail bar Junk Lounge.

Guests were invited to immerse themselves into exoticism with an inspired and very rare Geisha Tea Ceremony.

With floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House and city skyline, guests were treated to a unique adventure for all the sense.

The two-hour tasting journey and ceremony was lead by a stunning Geisha adorned in a breathtaking handcrafted kimono and Obi perfectly accentuating the stunning oriental styling of the venue.

Guests were treated to a Japanese feast starting with a five-piece tasting plate including kingfish sashimi, wagyu skewers, mushroom steamed buns, lotus chips and corn croquette followed by shared mains of assorted sushi, pork belly skewers and Asian greens.

The traditional tea ceremony followed with the Geisha educating guests on the art of a traditional Japanese tea ritual.

The tea ceremonies will be available to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 11.30am – 1.30pm commencing Saturday 20th July. Delicious Japanese & Asian delicacies will be complimented by an assortment of Japanese teas and alcoholic beverages.

Junk Lounge and the exceptional Tea Ceremony Experience is also available for private events, bridal brunches and hens parties.
